Good deal on camp gear

I was looking for some affordable camp gear and found a 'tente médiévale' and some 'vaisselle en terre cuite' here. The tent was a really good price compared to other sites, and the dishes seemed like a solid deal too. Shipping wasn't free, but the overall cost, including shipping, was still better than what I saw elsewhere. It felt like I got good value for my money, especially for the tent. I'm happy with what I paid.

Detailed review of armor set

I purchased a 'casque de chevalier' and a pair of 'gantelets'. The ordering process was smooth, and their sizing charts were helpful for the casque. Delivery to California took just under two weeks, which was acceptable given it came from France. Packaging was robust, ensuring no damage during transit. The quality of both pieces is excellent; the metalwork on the helmet felt authentic and the gantelets had good articulation. I appreciate that they provide clear information about the historical accuracy of their items. I had a question about maintenance, and their customer support responded within 24 hours with useful advice. The overall experience was professional and the products met my expectations for historical reenactment gear.

Quick shipping, solid shield

Bought a 'bouclier en bois'. It's sturdy. Arrived in good condition. Shipping was faster than expected for international. Happy with the purchase.

Consistent quality, reliable store

This was my third purchase from Blog Médiéval; this time I got a 'tunique en lin' and a 'bourse en cuir'. As with previous orders, the quality is consistent and reliable. I've bought 'braies médiévales' and a 'chaperon' before, and they've all held up well after several uses and washes. The shipping times are generally predictable. They always pack items carefully. It's why I keep coming back when I need new pieces for my kit. Never had any major issues with them.

Good quality, delivery could be faster

I ordered a 'gambison' and a 'ceinturon en cuir' from Blog Médiéval. The quality of both items is impressive, especially the gambison, which felt very sturdy and well-made for the price. Sizing was accurate based on their guide. My main critique would be the delivery time; it took about 10 days to arrive in New York, which felt a bit long, though they did specify international shipping takes time. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about the tracking. Overall, I'm satisfied with the products and the value.

How long does delivery usually take to, say, Paris? Need a new sword for an event in a few weeks.

C Carol Davis 4 days ago
Within France usually isn't too bad, like 5-7 days for me when I ordered a shield. A sword might be different though, maybe a bit longer for heavier stuff?

Ordered some leather bits last month, got to Lyon in about 4 days. It really depends if it's in stock or if they have to get it. I'd check product page for stock.

Does Blog Médiéval ever do sales that are like, actually worth it? Or is it just tiny discounts for big spenders?

A Adam D. 1 week ago
They have seasonal sales, like summer or winter, and you might get 5-10% off. It's not like Black Friday crazy deals but it's something. Don't expect huge price drops.

I got a little off my first order signing up for the newsletter, but other than that, sales are kinda rare and usually small percentage wise. Good for an extra piece, not for kitting out fully on a budget.

Are their swords actually good for sparring or are they more for show? The descriptions are a bit vague on combat readiness.

K Karen R. 1 month ago
Some of them are definitely for combat, they'll usually say 'épée de combat' or something. But you gotta check each one. Not all are meant for hitting things hard, some are more for display or light practice.

I bought a blunt sword from them once, used it for HEMA practice. Seemed pretty solid, but always double check the specs for what you need.

Hey, thinking about grabbing a gambison here. What's the deal with sizing? Is it pretty standard or should I size up/down like with some other medieval gear sites?

N Nathan P. 1 month ago
I'd definitely check their specific size charts, especially for gambisons. I got a tunic there and it was pretty true to size based on their measurements, but armor stuff can be tricky.

yeah, always measure yourself. I heard someone say their armors can run a bit snug, so maybe compare your measurements carefully.

Anyone know if they do free shipping codes often? Or is it only for specific times?

E Eric Hill 2 days ago
Sometimes during sales, I think? I've seen it as part of bigger promos. Don't count on it being an everyday thing though.

I got free shipping once for a first order but haven't seen any general free shipping codes floating around much since then. They're more about category-specific discounts usually.
